Cardiff Metropolitan University

Supporting Students with Personalised Well-being in Welsh and Beyond

The Challenge

Cardiff Metropolitan University, known for its commitment to inclusivity and supporting the diverse needs of its student body, faced a unique challenge. As a university with strong roots in Wales, they needed a well-being platform that not only provided personalised well-being resources but also supported the Welsh language, aligning with their commitment to the bilingual culture. The solution needed to be inclusive, flexible, and able to cater to a multilingual student population, ensuring accessibility for all students, regardless of their preferred language.

The Solution

To meet Cardiff Met’s needs, we deployed our Well-being App and Well-being AI Agent with integrated Welsh language support. This included a fully translated interface and the option for students to interact with the platform in Welsh. The platform's AI Agent, a key feature, can hold meaningful conversations not only in Welsh but in 100 different languages.

Key Features:

Multilingual Well-being AI Agent: Offering conversations in 100 languages, including full Welsh support for mental health and well-being needs.

Bilingual App Interface: A fully translated Welsh-language interface to ensure seamless navigation for Welsh-speaking students.

Customisable Content: The University can configure their app experience, uploading Welsh-language podcasts, articles, and other well-being tools, enabling students to engage with content in their language of choice.

Working in Partnership

Our collaboration with Cardiff Met focused on addressing the unique cultural and linguistic needs of the university’s student body. By working closely with their well-being and student services teams, we ensured the platform not only met the general requirements for mental health support but also integrated the necessary Welsh language options to align with the university’s commitment to bilingualism. Together, we created a platform that fosters inclusivity and empowers students to access well-being resources in their preferred language.
